And welcome to Season 7 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series! 🙂 It’s the first season of the 1970s, the first season to be shown in colour on TV, and it’s the first season to feature Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor. We start off Season 7 by taking a look at the four-part adventure ‘Spearhead From Space’. This story also features the return of Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and U.N.I.T. This story also introduces Caroline John as Liz Shaw as well as the monstrous Autons and the Nestene Consciousness. ‘Spearhead From Space’ can be checked out on DVD and Blu-ray as well as on Britbox. It’s also considered one of the worst ‘Doctor Who’ stories ever made, starring Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Wendy Padbury as Zoe. ‘The Space Pirates’ can be checked out on audio CD or as a download via Audible. ‘Episode Two’ of the story can be seen in the ‘Lost In Time’ DVD collection as well as on Britbox. Here’s another one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Patrick Troughton era! 🙂 This is ‘The Invasion’, an epic eight-part story where Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Wendy Padbury as Zoe face the Cybermen again. They also confront Kevin Stoney as the villainous Tobias Vaughn and they’re joined by Nicholas Courtney, who is promoted as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and is the leader of U.N.I.T., a new taskforce tackling alien invasions of Earth. Here’s my latest review on the 1987 film adaptation of ‘Little Dorrit’, based on the novel by Charles Dickens. The 1987 film adaptation of ‘Little Dorrit’ is a two-part film. Each part is about 3 hours long, which makes this a 6-hour film altogether. You’ll probably want to spend two days watching this particular film. 🙂 Continue reading
